cj_pesch: According to fan postings on the BLACKMORE'S NIGHT U.K. Fanclub forum, the band — which features former DEEP PURPLE/RAINBOW guitarist Ritchie Blackmore and his fiancée Candice Night — played an abbreviated set Thursday night (June 14) at the Reading Hexagon in Reading, England, leaving many of the fans disappointed. "They came on late and did a rather lukewarm set and then cut the set in half!" a forum member who goes by the name "Classicpurple" wrote. "Candice was obviously trying to put some enthusiasm into the show but there was none from anyone else! Blackmore no doubt did another one of his stroppy tantrums and refused to go on! None of the security people knew what was going on other than they were supposed to play 'till 11.00 [after taking the stage at 8.55]. If this is the case, Blackmore needs to grow up a bit — he must be 62 by now! It's 2007, not 1976, and people need to be a bit more professional than that! I'm a huge Blackmore fan by the way! See www.classicpurple.com. Totally unprofessional way to treat an audience who have paid a lot of money and travelled a long way to be there! I would certainly not advise anyone to buy tickets for a show — not at £22.50 each and I would certainly not buy any again. Very disappointing — not interested anymore!" Another forum member, who goes by the name "typo_queen", added, "Of course I was highly annoyed by the abruptness of the ending. Not only was it a short show, but there was no forewarning of this, they didn't announce their last song, but all of a sudden were like 'see you next time' and walked off the stage. The lack of formal ending seemed like most band's usual approach to an encore, and as was evident from the audience it was very much expected. My friend had heard the setlist for some of the other gigs and was expecting to hear certain other songs which they did not play. Had they played another song or two I would have been fairly content with the evening, but brought a rather abrupt and negative end to an otherwise very pleasant evening." Что-то там случилось? Я не верю, что Ричи просто не в настроении и все! Его проблема - он не умеет бороться со своими негативными эмоциями, которые очевидно чувствует вся группа... как это и в Москве 2006 было. Но опять, что я замечаю - невероятно сильный характер Кэндис!!! Вот кто на своих хрупких плечах может все шоу тянуть если что! И думаю, сила ее характера не только в шоу проявляется... Блин, как же я хочу научиться так контроллировать свои эмоции!!!

Наверное во всем была виновата наша погода, да плюс еще неорганизованность организаторов концертов ,что часто быват для концертов в Росси, когда декорации на сцене выставляются в последний момент. ИМХО.

Если ты это о концерте в Москве 2006, то представь все самое плохое, что приходит в голову, умножь на 5 и это будут, те условия, в которых оказались BN в Мовскве 2006!!! И речь не о погоде!
KaGE: Birmingham, U.K June 17 Setlist: Past Time With Good Company Rainbow Blues Play Minstrel Play Under A Violet Moon Soldier Of Fortune Durch Den Wald Zum Bach Haus (inc: bass and piano solo) World Of Stone Minstrel Hall (inc: giant rabbit) Mond Tanz/Child in Time Diamonds And Rust Bard David solo/Ariel Wind in the Willows Mr Peagram’s Morris and Sword Home Again (inc: Drink, Drink) Fires at Midnight Renaissance Faire Avalon Clock Ticks On Cartouche The Old Village Lanterne Mid Winter's Night/Dandelion Wine Ghost of a Rose It was "ON" from the moment that the support band had finished.From the word go the crowd danced and cheered and Ritchie revelled in it and reacted to it with a undisguised enthusiasm. They played for 2 hours+ and were superb all night. The new members have actually strenghtened the band and the vocal range of the Sisters Of The Moon never fails to amaze me.I am sure Mike will put the set list on the board so i will just give details on what i think stood out. "Ariel" was awesome, the one and only introduction of the Fender Strat and his solo was worth the admission fee on it's own."Fires At Midnight" was a moment where time stood still, Ritchie played a long acoustic solo and you could hear a pin drop in the place, it was incredible. "Child In Time", though i have said that it's not a BN song, but, despite this, it gets better and better. The Sisters Of The Moon on this one really make the difference. I always enjoy "Minstrel Hall" and tonight was no different i wish he'd play "Beyond The Sunset" but lets not get picky! "Wind In The Willows" sounded great as did "Cartouche", " Ghost Of A Rose", "Soldier Of Fortune" (Candice was exquisite on this song) and Diamonds And Rust (phenominal performance from Candice). The encores included " A Village Lanterne", "Now And Then", and "Dandilion Wine", not obvious choices but they still went down a storm on the night. A shame they didn't play "I Still Remember" ,"Renaissance Faire", "St Teresa", but it was still a cracking night.
