netivot: Некоторое время назад я поместил вопросы к режиссёру на официальном форуме фильма Dear Mr. J.J.L., The news about your project of horror film set in post-Salem America and Candice Night’s involvement in this film were extremely good news for us (I’m writing on behalf of New Zealand branch of Russian Blackmore’s Night fanclub - I know it’s sounds a little messy, but that’s what it is). In fact, you could compare it with little earthquake. In followed lively discussion on our forum turns out that majority of our members are long-standing admirers of horror genre and are going to watch horror film twice a year. At least. It’s not the miracle that we all are really exited by perspective of combining together creepy film and magical voice of Candice. I fully understand that right now it’s not the proper time to talk about forthcoming film itself and I am dying to avoid any spoilers till I’ll grab my seat in a theater. Instead of that I wanna ask you questions (as I mentioned above - on behalf of some 100 people), questions concerning film’s soundtrack. Hope you’ll find possible to answer some of them. I mean they’re not all stupid or intended to charm any plot details out of you. Here’s the first question of whom the music on starting page of your film’s site is belong to? It’s very worrisome and beautiful. The second question is about involvement of Blackmore’s Night in your project. You entitled Blackmore’s Night as one of main contributors to your soundtrack. It was also announced about one song composed by Candice for the film. So can we wait also for any brand-new song or instrumental of Blackmore’s Night? I personally think some of Ritchie's music is merely perfect fit for horror picture. And here comes the last one - are you intending to dilute horror moments with some good jokes? Although it is stock music, we made sure that we found the right piece that fit the mood of this project. Glad you like it.. I am not at liberty to say at this early stage. And here comes the last one - are you intending to dilute horror moments with some good jokes? - I will say there are certainly some moments of humor in this film but it is in no way meant to offer cliche comic relief or to dilute the horror. The character Kyle played by Lenny Venito is your average, regular Joe, New York Italian... kinda like me... and there is no way a guy like that is going to go through the events of this film without a little cynicism and attitude. He is not the guy spouting 'throwaway' one liners to get a laugh. He is a real, hot blooded Italian American... again, kinda like me... and doesn't say anything I wouldn't say myself if I was in his shoes... just ask my partners, lol. Also, I feel (and correct me if I am wrong) that there are too many horror films (especially lately), where the characters run around with scared looks, spouting lines like "What are we going to do?" or "We have to stop it" or "How do we get out of here?" through the entire movie. I find that very 'one noted' tonally and it gets old. Real people have an ocean of real emotions especially when caught in harrowing situations... Cynisicm, sarcasm, anger, nervous humor, paranoia, foolishness, sudden surges of bravery, spontaneous breakdowns... there are so many colors available to paint horror movie characters with life ( as well as any genre)... rather than the 'pretty cardboard' that most of us get stuck watching... If I wanted to watch pretty cardboard, I could go buy a poster of some hot babe at Spencer's for cheaper than the cost of a movie ticket, take it home and stare at it. <--- see? There's the New York smart-mouth coming out in me... :wink: Thanks for the great questions!! I am honored to offer some insight and pepper it with my humble, sometimes wise-cracking opinions... so, keep 'em coming! Я имел в виду ответ на третий вопрос, в котором мне понравились здоровое чувство юмора (например, в строках о картонной фигуре красотки), аллюзии на нью-йоркские реалии и язык с использованием нью-йоркских словечек и оборотов, крайне здравый подход к сценарию (сюжету и репликам) и т.д. Я даже поменял изначальное неприятие идеи фильма и видимо посмотрю его, причём не из-за БН - роль у Кэндис эпизодическая, а про участие БН, как группы, в саундтрэке пока бабушка надвое сказала
Jam Bluse: по началу и вовсе обещали Кэндис в главных ролях... так, что похоже еще не раз все переигарют
netivot: У Кэндис роль жены главного злодея, но ещё в марте она на своём сайте писала, что роль маленькая
Jam Bluse: должно быть первоначально всех смутило именно, то что она играет жену главного злодея... оффициальных коментариев ведь довольно долго небыло.... с середины января ждали! P.S.Кстати, я на днях представил себе Кэндис в роли Мартишы из Семейки Адамс))) Как-то она у меня очень удачно вписалась в этот образ)))
netivot: А вообще-то, наверное, самое интересное, останется ли её героиня жива в конце фильма, в смысле - будет ли Кэндис принимать участие в сиквеле, идея которого со слов режиссёра уже родилась Например, в этом году БН дают очень усечённое даже по их параметрам турне и скорее всего одна из причин - участие Кэндис в съёмках Так они могут опять остаться без музыкантов - зарабатывать-то людям надо, а в БН такая возможность предоставляется только два-три раза в году во время туров (осенняя часть турне тоже объявлена очень скромной - 7-8 концертовв Германии и ещё пара-тройка в других странах)
netivot: Обновление на сайте ужастика - фильм всё ещё на стадии пре-продакшн, ожидается забастовка актёров и самое грустное - Тэйт принёс несколько песен и мелодий, которые очень понравились режиссёру. Боюсь, оригинальной песни БН на саундтрэке не дождаться. Hello everyone... There are no pics from this film yet as we are still in pre-production... with the potential of an actors strike, it makes progress a bit... well... sluggish. There are, however, new rough tracks for the soundtrack that Geoff played for us at Fires at Midnight Films... Let me just say..."Oh My!" There are some instrumental pieces that have a very surreal, dream-like quality to them. And then we heard a pair of lyrically driven singles... А компания FIRESATMIDNIGHT на своём офиц. сайте похваляется снятием клипа для группы киношного мужа миссис Блэкмор. Сайт же самого фильма не открывается, одновременно и убран форум, на котором можно было прочитать новости или спросить режиссёра о наболевшем (в смысле - будет ли brand-new музыка на саундтрэке) Jam Bluse пишет: дождаться бы фильма вообще...
